Having bought a full set of used side trim earlier in the year and having spent many hours straightening – the 2 pieces I needed – and gently de denting the trim as per previous posts.
Considering the state of the trim I started with that although the finished item is not perfect I am very pleased with the end result.
I was surprised how easy the old trim came off – after having to shear off the rusted fixing nut. After tidying up some minor rust spots under the trim the replacement trim went on quite easily. The trick seems tho give the trim a slight down and then upward twist around each of the riveted studs.
