Had the radiator off today to get ready to do another job which made an ideal opportunity to check how the timing cover reinforcing straps were holding out.
Not a drop of oil to be seen so very pleased. These specially made straps came from America – quite expensive but seem to do the job. Timing covers easily get distorted making them leak around the gasket. The reinforcing straps force the cover flange flat making a good seal.
