MGB Gearbox drive flange removal

A pretty straight forward job if you have a piece of angle iron drilled to suit the bolts in the flange.

The puller I made when I was an apprentice has come in handy again to remove the flange once the nut was loosened – do not use a hammer or risk damaging the bearings.

It was difficult to tell if the oil seal had failed due to so much oil coming from leaks else where so didn’t make sense having got the gear box out not to change that oil seal.

Replaced flange (with prop shaft bolts) refixed angle iron and torqued up to 60lbft as specified for the LH overdrive unit.
