Tip – MGB Engine Mounting Tightening Tip

Following on from a recent post about MGB round rubber bumper engine mountings is a couple of suggestions:-

  1. The use of bluetac or similar to hold a nut onto a spanner to be able to position it onto an awkward stud or bolt – especially the MGB engine mountings.
  2. To get a spanner that fits the nut for the hidden engine mountings and cut it in half with an angle grinder so you can get a decent swing on it and still tighten it enough to hold tight.

Whoever designed these brackets certainly did not have the diy maintainer in mind!!
