I’m sure most fit diy car enthusiasts know that you must never remove the radiator car when the engine is running or still hot from use. If the radiator cap is removed whilst the engine is hot which means the water cooling system is still under pressure will cause hot water and steam to be forced out under pressure and potentially causing burns / injury to anyone in the way.
A simple check if you are not sure is to give the top (corrugated) hose a squeeze – if soft and gives way easy then there is no pressure – but still remove the cap slowly …..just in case.
