Ron Hopkinson Rear Anti-roll Bar
I have been aware of the mounting brackets to the rear of the car for a while and now know – after an article on the mgb-stuff website that they were part of a Ron Hopkinson Rear Antiroll Bar set up.
It was removed by a PO when he did the CB conversion and lowered the suspension but left the mounting brackets.
The bolt heads that hold the mounting plates are in the boot and sprayed same colour as car – which leads me to believe was fitted prior to car being sprayed in 1996!
So this leads me to think that the car was being race prepared back in 1996 or was the owner persuaded to have it added as all rubber bumper cars 76 onwards was standard (only the early RB cars had no anti roll bars)
Reblogged this on MGB tips mods and maintenance and commented:
Now refitted to the car to reduce the risk of understeer on slippery roads.
