The carpet coverings on the sills were removed to drill 20mm spy holes into the sill to inspect them and to apply a waxoyl spray to keep them rust free. I didn’t want to reglue the carpets which made them loose and look untidy. The stainless steel seal covers which are used on the MGB GT cars now holds the sill carpets in position and also gives the door step a slick looking finish.
