MGB Wing mounted fuel pipe

In the cause of bringing standard parts back to an engine compartment that has had many years of tinkering i was in 2 minds to cut into the single length rubber fuel pipe that had now replaced the original metal pipe and 2 shorter lengths of rubber pipe at sometime in the past.
I think the original purpose of this short length of metal pipe is to reduce the pipe diameter from 5/16th dia from the fuel tank to 1/4" of the carburettor fuel inlet pipe.
Anyway I went ahead and fitted the pipe using the original type fixings.
