Whilst the fuel tank was out thought an ideal opportunity to replace the fibre washers in the diff. Had replaced all the washers earlier this year which made a lot less “clonk”. I got hold of some 10 thou oversize brass washers a while ago so now’s a good time to put them in.
To get the diff gears out you need to remove one of the half shafts. The trickiest bit is removing the wheel bearing but by placing a couple of longish m10 nuts and bolts as shown in the pictures. Then tightening the drive shaft nut which pulls out the bearing.
