A good indicator how well the engine is running and the general condition of the engine can be seen from the colour of the spark plugs. After a round trip of about 80 miles to and from the Notts Classic Car Show I thought on my return would be a good opportunity to do a spark plug check.
Propped up bonnet and had the plugs out in 5 minutes and put each one into a block of wood I have with holes to take each plug – numbered so I don’t forget which cylinder each came from in case there was a problem with any. All looked spot on – which didn’t surprise me as the car was running so well – so all went back in again.
