A job I should have done when the engine was out and replaced the clutch. I thought would be a straight forward job I could stretch out to a good day but I struggled.

After removing the slave cylinder to give me more space to manoeuvre the old deteriorated rubber pulled off over the fork quite easily …… but there was no way the new rubber was going to go on the same way!!

Even after warming the new rubber in boiling water and plenty of soup lubricant it was not going on. The only way was to cut a short slit to widen the hole ….. then it went on.

So after several hours I had removed the old rubber which had split with a new rubber with a split!!@ …… anyway I hid the split which I had fitted a cable tie to prevent it splitting further at an angle not easily seen …….
