I’ve not changed the oil on the car since I got it 6 years ago so although I’ve not done a great mileage I thought it was about time.
After a short run to warm up the engine I got the car on the ramps and drained the oil. I placed an old towel under the screw off oil filter to catch any surplus oil.

Mine has the 18V engine being a 1975 made car which holds about 3.5 litres of oil. It is important to use a “classic” oil that has the correct additives for an older engine – not a synthetic or semi synthetic oil for use on more modern cars.
My ramps have a lift of about 9″ and I know that if I refill the oil up to the full mark that when the car is on the level and engine started the level drops to minimum – to top up again.
