Duplex Timing Chain

I was pleasantly surprised to find a duplex timing chain when i recently had the engine out. Originally all mgb’s had the duplex chain until about 1972 when it was changed to a simplex (single) chain. I can only imagine that it was probably from an earlier engine and fitted when the engine had a stage 3 head and high lift cam fitted – now removed by a PO.
