Whilst I had the back of the car jacked up recently I took the opportunity to add a towing loop. Not to tow a caravan etc but something to attach and emergency rope etc to be either towed out of mud or to tow someone else out off mud – ie just for a short distance.
I reshaped a bracket that I have had in my garage and with a couple of extra large washers fitted it to the studs of the axle U-bolts.
Hopefully i will never have to use it but it’s there …..just in case!
