I recently relocated the fuel filter back to its original position – lying horizontal on the rear bulkhead – having found the reason i moved it for is now not a problem.
About a year ago i moved the fuel filter to a vertical position just in front of the carburettor fuel inlet to reduce the amount of trapped vapour that i thought was causing the occasional fuel starvation and stalling of the engine. Since then i have tracked the fault to the fuel pump which i have recently replaced.
