Was checking the timing which was slightly out on the MGB. Should be 10deg for strobe timing but based on info i have found on various forums a couple of extra degrees seems to be best so will see how i get on.
I noted that the distributor has to turn clockwise to advance – anticlockwise to retard. I just slacken the clamp screw so the distributor is stiff enough to just move with a gentle tap of the wooden handle end of a hammer whilst the engine is running.
The 10deg mark on the crankshaft pulley is the second pointer. The top pointer is top dead centre TDC and each pointer to the left of it represents 5deg advance.
