The steering wheel was not very comfortable after over 40 years of use covering about 150,000 miles – the surface was very smooth and hard making out very difficult to get a good grip especially on hot and cold days.
I bought a MR STEERING leather cover which is custom made to fit this specific steering wheel.
The cover comes with the thread and blunt needle and instructions as well as links to a YouTube video which is most useful.
It’s not a quick job, it took me most of the a fternoon but i was taking it steady with plenty of breaks.
At the end of it was a pretty impressive steering wheel. A good neat finish and the lovely smell of leather……. well recommended.
