It’s important that when undoing the hub nuts – front and back – that they are undone the correct direction. The reason being that if for any reason they did behind loose whilst the vehicle is moving the rotation of the wheel does not assist the nut loosening even more.
The trick is to know which side of the car requires a clockwise or anti- clockwise. The image shows the correct way – bearing in mind the right hand side is based on you sitting in the drivers seat. NB. The steering wheel is on the right on a right hand drive car.
Get it wrong and you’ll swinging away on that spanner for a long time ……
